Communicate, communicate, communicate.<\/b><\/h2>\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-7a6ace2f elementor-widget elementor-widget-text-editor\" data-id=\"7a6ace2f\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-e-type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"text-editor.default\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<p>Days go by and your new recruit seems to be acclimatising well to their new work environment.<\/p><p>\u00a0<\/p><p>Continue to train them and ask them for their feedback.\u00a0 Taking the time to sit down together will enable you to give them the training they need, and direct them to the right people (if necessary), and thus be aware of what they are going through.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-df4f254 elementor-widget elementor-widget-text-editor\" data-id=\"df4f254\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-e-type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"text-editor.default\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<p><i>&#8220;The only major problem in communication is the illusion that it has taken place&#8221; George Bernard SHAW.&#8221;<\/i><\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-5d1d7915 elementor-widget elementor-widget-text-editor\" data-id=\"5d1d7915\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-e-type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"text-editor.default\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<p>Be very attentive to the reactions, and non-verbal communication, of your employee and make sure they understand what it is you\u2019re asking of them.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-031f4e8 elementor-widget elementor-widget-text-editor\" data-id=\"031f4e8\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-e-type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"text-editor.default\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<p><b>Note: there is nothing worse for a new employee than to be given an assignment that they have not understood. Always ask your employee to rephrase the message and verbalise their agreement.\u00a0<\/b><\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-46e73cfb elementor-widget elementor-widget-heading\" data-id=\"46e73cfb\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-e-type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"heading.default\">\n\t\t\t\t\t<h2 class=\"elementor-heading-title elementor-size-default\"><b>2. Accompany and supervise with kindness<\/b><\/h2>\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-345d054d elementor-widget elementor-widget-text-editor\" data-id=\"345d054d\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-e-type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"text-editor.default\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<p>We&#8217;ve talked about this in previous articles, but it can be helpful for your newcomer to be able to rely on someone. The role of the mentor\u2019 will simply be to accompany and guide them in a caring manner.<\/p><p>\u00a0<\/p><p>Although this responsibility can be entrusted to a direct manager, it is better to choose a team member who has no reporting relationship with the newcomer. This will avoid conflicts of interest and make it easier to &#8220;free up&#8221; the conversation in case of difficulties.<\/p><p>\u00a0<\/p><p>It&#8217;s during the probationary period that habits set in, so make sure you don&#8217;t let anything slip through the net, and that you have everything in place to guide your employee on the road to success.<\/p><div>\u00a0<\/div>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-d1b4039 elementor-widget elementor-widget-heading\" data-id=\"d1b4039\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-e-type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"heading.default\">\n\t\t\t\t\t<h2 class=\"elementor-heading-title elementor-size-default\"><b>3. Congratulate and empower<\/b><\/h2>\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-35c36117 elementor-widget elementor-widget-text-editor\" data-id=\"35c36117\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-e-type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"text-editor.default\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<p>Little by little, the new recruit will experience their first successes. Whilst we are all inclined to reprimand when it doesn&#8217;t work, too few managers know how to say &#8220;well done&#8221;! Yet, this is the best way to develop enthusiasm and commitment within your teams.<\/p><p>\u00a0<\/p><p>Note, many studies show that for the majority of employees, recognition and appreciation for a job well done is worth more than any financial reward.<\/p><p>\u00a0<\/p><p>New generations increasingly need autonomy, so assign tasks to your employees and let them organise themselves as they wish. By empowering them, you strengthen their involvement in the company.\u00a0<\/p><div>\u00a0<\/div>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-de2c033 elementor-widget elementor-widget-text-editor\" data-id=\"de2c033\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-e-type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"text-editor.default\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<p><b>If you want to keep their talents, trust them.\u00a0<\/b><\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-6d52baf2 elementor-widget elementor-widget-text-editor\" data-id=\"6d52baf2\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-e-type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"text-editor.default\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<p><b>Keep in mind: onboarding is a long-term process. According to a study carried out by id-carri\u00e8res, the risk of terminating an employee during their first year is 36.1%.<\/b><\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-392af64 elementor-widget elementor-widget-heading\" data-id=\"392af64\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-e-type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"heading.default\">\n\t\t\t\t\t<h2 class=\"elementor-heading-title elementor-size-default\"><b>4. Confirm, extend, or end?<\/b><\/h2>\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-480fd16a elementor-widget elementor-widget-text-editor\" data-id=\"480fd16a\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-e-type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"text-editor.default\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<p>As its name suggests, the probationary period allows the employer and the recruit to &#8220;test&#8221; the job, the tasks, and also the working environment.\u00a0<\/p><p>\u00a0<\/p><p>It&#8217;s a period of getting to grips with the new role and understanding how the company works. Whatever the outcome of this probationary phase, show empathy.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-0df5a41 elementor-widget elementor-widget-text-editor\" data-id=\"0df5a41\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-e-type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"text-editor.default\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<b>Confirmed probationary period: mark the occasion.<\/b>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-65011d0 elementor-widget elementor-widget-text-editor\" data-id=\"65011d0\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-e-type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"text-editor.default\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\tTake a moment with your new employee to reflect on their successes but also their doubts.\n\n&nbsp;\n\nMake sure that the commitment is reciprocated and above all congratulate them! Why not expand with a team lunch or a quick drink to celebrate at the end of the day?\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-9d571b2 elementor-widget elementor-widget-text-editor\" data-id=\"9d571b2\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-e-type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"text-editor.default\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<b>Extended probationary period: encourage.<\/b>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-5d54d74 elementor-widget elementor-widget-text-editor\" data-id=\"5d54d74\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-e-type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"text-editor.default\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<p>Do you have doubts about your hire\u2019s skills or behaviour? Do they express reluctance or do they need more time?<\/p><p>\u00a0<\/p><p>The extension of a probationary period is made for that. Be encouraging, show your employee the confidence you have in them and put in place a real process to help them surpass themselves.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-6a292b2 elementor-widget elementor-widget-text-editor\" data-id=\"6a292b2\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-e-type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"text-editor.default\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<b>Ending the probationary period: anticipate and inform.<\/b>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-fae6d8f elementor-widget elementor-widget-text-editor\" data-id=\"fae6d8f\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-e-type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"text-editor.default\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<p>After a few months you realise that this new employee does not meet your expectations.&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><br><\/p>\n<p>Recruitment errors, internal problems, lack of consultation, anything is possible, but this shouldn\u2019t necessarily be viewed as a failure. However, the person in front of you is human and has emotions and feelings; explain what the issues and concerns are whilst being mindful of the situation.<\/p>\n<p><br><\/p>\n<p>Take the time to listen to how they\u2019re feeling, and how their experiences have been.
